Special Visitors...

Over the last few days we have had a few very special visitors. The first was Les the electrician who came to PAT test the Hotel and Spa! The second were the Tats who popped in ahead of the Teddy Bear Festival to take som promo shots.

Project Runningblade...

We were thrilled to be on the beach at Pendine Sands over the weekend when Don Wales took the lawnmower land speed record from the Americans. Our very own Speedy the Gardener was present and Bartie Bristle met a VERY famous little bear and is now a bit star struck! I will post some pics as soon as I can.

CHARLIE BEAR UPDATE ...

For those of you who have been checking for my Charlie Bear update, thank you for your patience and here it is!
I now have in stock... Harris, Heather, Jooles, Ludo, Manfred, Simon and Stevie.

I am happy to mail to those of you for whom a trip to the shop is difficult but I will have to add post and packaging costs.

I also still have in stock... Felix, Harvey, Ruby, Maisy, Lou Lou, Christopher, Tetley (dog) and Tabitha (cat).

Workshop 15th May ...

Just a note to let any of you guys out there who fancy trying to make a traditional ted know that the above workshop is for men only!
We still have spaces. This is the one day beginners day at a cost of £80.

We are working on a prototype Bartie Bristle which will be a child friendly plush version of the original bear designed by us. We would value any comments or suggestions regarding the future popularity of such a bear. We anticipate hime retailing around the £15 mark.

This is our latest addition to the Studio Bartie range of kits now available to purchase. He is called Fudge and stands approximately 10.5 inches when completed. As with all our kits, traditional bear making techniques are used. Full instructions are included.
We have not included the stuffing in our kits. The cost of each kit is £30.00 and are available in a range of colours.

Duffy Moon ...

We are pleased to introduce you to Duffy Moon. We have designed him for a workshop we will be running in support of Animals Asia. The date is still to be announced and we intend to offer Duffy Moon in kit form to our customers after the event.

Mobile Workshops ...

We are pleased to say that our mobile workshops are up and running. We are able to travel to you to run a full day of traditional bear-making.

We can bring the workshop to your office or workplace. We can also run bear-making weekends in hotels. These sessions are a wonderful way to spend a day doing something quite different!

A fantastic group bonding opportunity or hen weekend activity.

At the end of the day you will have made your very own mohair teddy. All materials and equipment are supplied and the price includes our tuition also. The little bear is pictured above and is called 'Phileas Duffy'. Please contact us directly for prices and availability.

workshop update ...

With one week to go, we still have a few places available on our one day beginneres workshop on Saturday 24th April.

It is great to know that there are those of you out there who a planning to visit the New Forest for the festival in June and are booking local accommodation specially. Thank you for your support!
We are also at our highest number of Bartie Bristles ordered in one year since we first started making himin 2007 and it is only April.

Bear Kits ...

As promised I now have the prices of our teddy bear kits.

Toffee Bear is string jointed, comes in three colours and is approximately 4inches tall when made. £18.00 (requires stuffing and strong thread)

Treacle Bear is five way cotter pin jointed, comes in the same three colours as Toffee and is approximately 9inches tall when made. £25.00 (requires stuffing and strong thread)

Both bears are made with a felted mohair.

(they are not suitable for children under 14)

The Studio

We spent a lot of time today rearranging the studio. It is now easier for visitors to see us working. We make new bears and restore and repair our inpatients in full public view and welcome your interest.
